Alexandra Hulsey is a Dallas based artist, writer, and curator whose practice explores the intersections of nature and communal experience within contemporary social landscapes. Deeply rooted in Texas, she actively supports and nurtures the regional art community while maintaining a personal practice in photography and new media.
Hulsey is an alumna of Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and received her BFA from Pacific Northwest College of Art. She has exhibited nationally and internationally, including at CICA Museum (South Korea), SFMoMA (San Francisco, CA), Black Box Gallery (Portland, OR), Melanie Flood Projects (Portland, OR), and 2 BED 1 BATH (Dallas, TX), among others. Her writing has appeared in Femme Art Review, and her work has been featured in the 2025 print issue of Nasher Sculpture Magazine. In 2025 she curated her first major exhibition, Masahiro LaMarsh: Anticlastic at Dallas Contemporary.
From 2021 to 2026, she led brand strategy, design, and communications for major exhibitions and public programs at Dallas Contemporary, including the Dallas Art Book Fair, Summer Series, and DC EMPTY. As part of the 2026 Dallas Art Book Fair held at Dallas Contemporary, she organized the exhibitions Michael Corris: Incidents on a Page: Illustrated Texts on Art, 1971–2026 and Laray Polk: American Progress/Nu det Nuuk!.
