Dallas’s State Fair of Texas comes alive for a fleeting 24 days each year, transforming Fair Park into a bustling hub that welcomes an average of two million visitors.  Situated in South Dallas, the city's most financially and geographically strained neighborhood, in 2022, this ephemeral spectacle generated a profit of over 88 million dollars. However, when the colossal and iconic Ferris wheel eventually comes to a stop, the Art Deco grounds momentarily slumber, awaiting the next surge of activity that will bring the park back to life.

This series of images is an inquiry into the moments that go unnoticed when a usually dormant space is given grandiose attention. As I continue to delve deeper into the complexities surrounding Fair Park and engage in a critical examination of Dallas, this body of work stands as a continuous narrative examining echoes of the past in our present experiences.
